The mission of the University of Idaho College of Natural Resources’ McCall Outdoor Science School is to transform the lives of individuals and our communities through innovative research and educational experiences.
We envision vibrant, diverse and inclusive communities, empowered to ask difficult questions and transform ways of thinking, to collaboratively and compassionately sustain the social and ecological systems that provide for us.
As a whole, the MOSS faculty and staff value creativity, sustainability, diversity, inclusion, integrity, collaboration, and reflection.
This school is operated by the University of Idaho’s College of Natural Resources. The University and its partners use MOSS to foster scientific literacy, leadership skills and open-minded dialogue through graduate and professional education, youth science programs, seminars and more. The school was founded in 2001 and remains the only publicly operated K-12 residential outdoor school in Idaho.
